  1. My 87 Mercedes Benz 190e 2.3-16

My name is Igor Vogin. I’ve been living in the Seattle area for the past 5 years. I’ve owned 4 Cosworths in the last few years in various forms of neglect so I tried my best to build one nice one out of the four. A rust free chassis was used and I swapped in an engine from a NAM auto car and the dogleg 5spd from another. Exterior was mixed and matched so basically it’s a Frankenstein of a car at this point. I tried my best to do a write up of the build sheet so here it is as follows:

  3. Nice car! What kind of coil on plugs are you using?
    1985 190E 2.3-16 Euro

  4. They came with the ELBE kit but I think they are Audi coils

  5. why the 10k tach? where'd you get the rear spoiler from?

  6. To support future engine build Spoiler and front lip are from Hedgehog Tuning

Very well done. I am envious of your EFI conversion. Was that conversion a difficult and heavily technical process? And where did you order your fuel rails and intake manifold?

  8. For someone who had/has no idea what they were doing I’d say it was pretty difficult. Still not finished tuning. Gotta find someone who really knows what their doing. But it’s 85% there. It was essentially a “bolt on” kit from ELBE Engineering so the rail was included. I’m using the factory intake and throttle body

Thanks! This is good info. I also have no idea what I'm doing, so I'm happy to hear its possible, albeit pretty difficult. Does ELBE provide any installation support or instruction manual, or were you on your own to figure it out? And also, what stand alone do you have managing it?

  10. i did efi with itbs. built nearly everything myself and used a ms3pro standalone. i didn't think there was much to it. if you have general engine knowledge, i feel like it's easily doable.

    Nice car! What's your Instagram?

  15. Yes, it was one of those things that seemed very intimidating to install but once done it was almost all straight forward as far as what goes where. I just wasn’t sure how much of the old wiring loom I was suppose to get rid of. Ended getting rid of the entire loom that wrapped around the right side of the motor (if your looking at your bay). Tuning however is a complete mystery to me and still needs some fine tuning from someone knowledgeable. I’m out of the country till about July so everything car related is on break for me atm

  16. The ELBE kit included a VEMS stand-alone. There wasnt really an instruction manual on how to install all the hardware but they did include a manual and a wiring diagram of their wiring loom which is preassembled but ELBE. It was very helpful but I didn’t install it myself. I would recommend a knowledgeable auto electrician to wire it in for power. If you do decide on getting their kit I can provide any help that I can. I can send as many pictures as you need to show what goes where.
