but you have no fucking clue how to wield a spanner, let alone identify what an IACV is, or where it is.

You brush off the online hate by txting your online posse and trolling others to distract them from their focus.

Get a fucking life.
Learn how to use a fucking torque wrench.

And when you don't know something, use a forum and search. If you can't find your answer, ask a question.
You'll get more helpful people responding, with correct and detailed information.

What you won't get is 50 responses with bullshit content, ads for online betting and a family of trolls bashing you for asking a question they don't even know the answer to.

people who can share real experiences face to face at cars n coffee.

If you're not into your 190 it's probably because of social media.
use the 'rev and learn a few things that cannot be explained and returned to for reference in the future.

I get what JoeB is saying. Instagram is great for scrolling through pictures (that’s its whole purpose) it can provide some motivation, inspiration and entertainment but it’s a terrible platform to disseminate knowledge through. I love the forum and it sucks that it’s userbase has plummeted. It is a platform where it is easy to ask and answer questions in a way that remains easily accessible and searchable for others in the future. I think that also makes it easier for users to become more knowledgeable about cars faster. Those that really know their cars on Instagram didn’t learn those skills from Instagram.

Disclaimer: I have Instagram and shamelessly scroll through it when I’m bored.

A lot of people follow me and I see the shit they post... incorrect spelling, no grammar, and the nonsense they spout often matches the "issues" they're facing that they post about.

I agree with marrymemerc and I use it in a similar way. Build progress is easier to show on insta, but real info about what I did and how I went about it goes here.

I also agree with Joe, social media has made q/a an expirable resource, unless you save that post or tag yourself in it to follow it, or just end up racking your brain and trying to remember the name of a person who mentioned a thing on one of the some 15 different w201/190e FB groups.
