I just think the quality of posts is much better on the forum than facebook and it is a more searchable resource so information is retained and accessible. I do really miss the more active days though. My privacy concerns around Facebook are a whole different topic!

Stressed! There's so much to do on the builds.

The FB group was fun at first, and has gotten new people involved, but many of those new people haven't heard of the forum and are not willing to create an account, and they also ask the same questions, over and over again, that have been gone over here extensively.

Maybe we should cleanse the FB group? No forum account you get booted?

New guy here. The Facebook is entertaining... if you’re already on Facebook. But it totally sucks as a resource. Discussions tend to lack substance and it’s virtually unsearchable. Getting people back here would be nice.

People are lazy. Rather than doing some research for themselves they find it easier to just ask the question.

You can always spot the galactically lazy ones because they don't even bother to google first.

I always check this site rather than Facebook page. This site provides lots of technical info.

Deleted FB after a week from registration. Started receiving stuff in foreign languages....
Anyways, this forum is the Best, because if the enthusiasts who use it! Big thank you guys!
I just purchased a 16V and it is stripped for paint and check if rust has creeped in. The good news is there is no rust in the usual places. Only a little under two doors and on the lip of the boot lid. Will show photos once ready.

See this file with the side panels' clips I had to remove. Now I am an expert :-)

all the plastic bodyclips are a PITA on 201/124/126/129. But they do last for a long time if undisturbed. Once they are disrupted though, deterioration is rapid. Replacement is the only permanent solution, particularly for the side cladding panel clips and plugs.

I already called MB to see if they have the clips, and by the sounds of it, I can get them in 3 days. Thanks for your heads up JoeB! I see you have a real nice name for each of your rides. That reminded me, my Dad had named his ride when I was a kid... I should name my 16v! What is my favorite German name? Have a good weekend everyone!

If I could replace the RRC with a w461 I'd be a happy camper. Not sure what I'd call it though. Probably Armageddon.

Still around myself but working 2 jobs not that I need 2 jobs just 1 which is part time as a car salesman pays me to sit around and watch tv all day so why not. The other job is hoping to be full time and then I can make some real money and pour it into my cars.
