    Engine: 2.3-16
    Gearbox: Getrag 5-speed dog-leg
    Differential: 3.07 LSD
    MY1985 (only body is from 1991)

    Spec list:

    EVO1 body kit (kits I produce)
    Sepang bronze color
    BBS LM wheels 18" front 8", rear 9". Tires: front 225 , rear 255

    Original leather recaro sports seats

    Engine :
    Overhauled the stock engine.
    CR 10.5 - 400+hp
    Stiffer engine mounts
    7075 aluminum lightweight pulley with a trigger wheel.
    Camshaft position sensor. Originally this engine has distributor.
    VAG ignition coils - Bremi 4pcs
    3 - wire bosch idle air valve.

    EGT and Wideband Lambda

    45mm ITB`s from GSXR 750
    Turbo plenum with full-radius trumpets.

    980cc Bosch EV14 injectors.
    AN6 fuel lining.
    Custom Vacuum terminal.
    Tial 50mm blow off.


    Exhaust:
    Turbo manifold made of seamless pipes.
    Graphite coated exhaust wrap.
    Precision 6265 Billet turbocharger.
    Turbosmart 50mm wastegate.
    3 " stainless steel downpipe .
    Stainless steel exhaust system.
    Simons+Martelius rear muffler.

    Drivetrain :
    Billet flywheel ~ 4.3kg
    Alcon 184mm 3 -disc clutch
    Hydraulic bearing
    Stainless steel shifter rods with bearings instead of bushings.
    Shortshifter
    LSD spring block.


    Brakes:
    The front: 4piston callipers ML430
    345x32mm discs. Central parts machined out and replaced with billet aluminum hubs.
    Rear brakes from W124 320TE
    Goodridge stainless steel braided brake hoses .
    ATE blue racing brake fluid


    Suspension :
    H & R Cup kit suspension.
    Delrin front control arm bushings .
    Delrin rear subframe bushings.
    Other bushings are new OEM parts.
    Bearings from SKF.


    Cooling system :
    450x550x60mm custom radiator.
    2x 10 " electric fans .
    300x300x100mm custom intercooler
    13-row oil cooler













    Elbe Engineering billet fuel rail and billet FPR housing.


    Alcon clutch and my custom flywheel.


    Hydraulic clutch release bearing - it`s again my own designed and produced. 7075 anodized alloy with heavy duty replaceable bearing.

    BBS LM wheels are from BMW so I had to change PCD and ET. 7075 alloy.

  4. Very nice. Though I'm interested to see how the stock rods hold up to that power level.

    Rods are safe to 450hp. And rev limiter is set to 7500rpm.

    I`m going to change engine internals this winter. Mainly because I want to lower the compression ratio. At the moment I run max 1.3 bar of boost and quite retarded ignition timing and regular 98-octane (RON) gas.

    I would like to have CR around 9.5
    I will pick H-profile rods and new over sized pistons as well.

    Drive shafts are the weakest parts at the moment. It`s 2.3-16 original shaft.


    I use W124 300-24TE drive shafts. But I have broken already 1 shaft.

    But I already talk with some Swedish guys and they will provide me shafts what can handle 1000hp/1000Nm.

    Interested in more information about this, as I'd like to know about possibly getting some. Additionally, what are you doing about the stub shaft into the wheel hub flange? I suspect you'll start braking them next, the driveshaft shop suspects they're only good to ~450whp

    I think drive shafts are just too old and worn. Brand new W124 300-24TE shaft with joints price from MB dealer is 1250 Euros each (A1293503910).
    The second thing is that 3-disc clutch is killing them. Just too sharp hit for the shafts.

    I built 1000hp BMW E36 M3 to my friend and we use the same 3-disc clutch and he has the same problems. BMW M3 shafts are stronger but on glued drag strip it will broke as well.
    He has problems with original propeller shaft also on glued track.



    I will check Audi/BMW axle joints. Maybe these can be fitted to MB. Audi/BMW has lots of performance parts available.

    And of course. I can produce them by myself. Expensive.....but what`s not if we talking about modifying cars....

    Yeah. That kind of work is regular over here and projects like that. Maybe that`s why people do not appreciate it.

    what's the p/n for the "3 - wire bosch idle air valve". what are you using?

    Btw. I`m might sell my turbo manifold with or without turbocharger. I`m planning to weld new one. No real reason because current manifold(seamless pipe) is very well designed but I would like to make new one from Inconel 625.
    Turbo has V-band flange.

    Still the problems will be the cv-joints. They are useless... I already broke one.
    Maby its possible to cnc new harder ones?

    I think we`ll figure out something.

    Of course. CNC is always helpful. But first of all I need to order new shafts.

    What about brand new CV joints? I guess you had nearly 25 years old CV joint?
