1986 190e 2.3-16 Nam, 5spd MT, stripped to the bone, I swear I'll start building it into a track car soon, seriously.
That's bullsh*t. What's even more bullsh*t is that he calls you the first time you started the thread, makes some promises, then bails again. I know he called again and said he's gonna ship it again, but F that...just out of principle. I would demand a refund...and interest on top of it.
I've sold lots of miscellaneous stuff online via forums, ebay, and amazon.... there's been several instances where I just got too busy to package/ship something after I received the money. It took a 2-3 days tops but I just refunded the money and said sorry, I couldn't fulfill the order within a reasonable time frame.

Everytime i hear anything from Kevin, I hear "Next week". My shits supposdly been in boxes for 7 months ready to ship.
Ive even given him the option of a refund. Doesnt seem to work.
If he is starting a shop, hes already fucked up customer relations on here. People remember the bad over the good when it comes to reputations.
Hopefully he sends me my money or my parts this time! And hopefully there worth a shit!
That's a good point, an example being two engaged threads for the strut shaft nuts on his camber plates. Easy to install in under an hour, and presto! unsafe car! hooray! And hopefully there worth a shit!![]()

the problem with a good Rev seller vrs a bad Rev seller section is simple, Rev isn't a selling forum and any members that buy and sell do so at their own risk. I have been on the bad side of a few Rev members that ran with the money so I do feel for you.

I've lost a lot of money through this forum, but I've also gotten some really good deals on impossible to find parts for our cars.
It really is a buy at your own risk kinda thing with used car stuff, but I would feel better about buying things if the seller at least had a reference from another member.
Everytime I sell something on here, I list the people I've sold to or bought from recently to help put the potential buyer's mind at ease
just my .02 but I understand why the rev can't endorse buyers or sellers or any deals for their own protection.

I agree with the above statment,
Internet shopping is always a risk. But theres no better place to find that one part or piece of info!
I dont think the Rev needs to get involved with policing buying and selling on here. But, a section just for posting the ups and downs with dealing with a member might be nice. It might help with keeping the motivation up with completing a deal. That way another thread like this one doesnt show up again! There really was no need for this thread to go this far. But when theres money involved, things tend to get ugly.
One easy way to provide customer feedback would be to simply use a quick reply on the for sale thread thanking for the satisfactorily completed transaction, or complaining about a bad transaction, and extreme cases like this definitely deserve their own thread out of the for sale section in the main forum so that the record stands forever and doesn't time-out.

posting the comments about bad sales is better served in GM for the simple fact everyone sees it, or would be more willing to view it, just to see what all the whining is about. I am pretty sure any constant/steady Rev visitor is more than aware of what's going on. But hiding it in the sales or it's own section would involve someone actually having to go look (which would be good for the snide didn't you look in the " I told you so thread" later.

So, do we somehow agree in creating a thread were people would just chip in and drop a comment about a good/bad business deal or how pleasant/or not was the experience with this or that member of the forum? That would also give the other party a chance to express his point of view, who knows, there might be a good explanation (I can't think of one right now, however) as to why they have kept some one else's money for months without fulfilling their side of the deal.
I work up to 120 hours a week, day or night, and I have never hang on to some one else's money for that long. Sure it took me two days to drop the box at the post office, but that was it.
The problem I see with people taking avantage of others here is that, even though this forum doesn't endorse anyone and everyone buys at their own risk, it dimishes trust among members, and without trust, there's not much left.
This is what Im talking about. This guy is trying to get his parts with no response from the seller. He did write everything on the original thread, but no one really sees it unless they're interested in the same thing.
https://190rev.net/forums/showthread....347#post436112
brings about the same problem as people not searching before asking.. although I usually check out a member's threads before paypalling them anything, just to see if they're full of it

Here's some random thoughts . . .
- As Cdn said, we're an enthusiasts forum, not eBay. The buy/sell section is sort of a convenience to forum users, not the reason why 190Rev exists. We sure don't make any money off of it, but seem to have to deal with a modest amount of pissed off folks.
- Caveat emptor applies. It's written all over the place in the forum and hope members take the time to read the FAQ to the Connect forum as well as all the other forums.
- Search and do your "due diligence." There's a reason why we don't allow members without at least 10 posts to start a buy or sell thread . . . it gives everyone else a fair chance to see if the member is someone you want to do business with. Craigslist doesn't do that, for sure. However, any member here can do a search on another member's other posts and for threads where that member is mentioned by username. While not foolproof, it's a tool available to check a users history.
- Be wary of group buys. Old timers here know this by heart. Countless group buys crash and burn, which is pretty sad and discouraging for the few that actually go through. I've been in the middle of at least three or four group buys gone sour and it is one of the least favorite things about having this job. From poor quality to outright theft, there's so many ways for a group buy to go wrong, that it's amazing that the few that do go through make it that far.
- For those that sell or buy from the forum, how about leaving a message about the deal in the thread that started the sale? At the very least, sellers, let us know when the sale is completed so the thread can be closed . . . which by default would indicate a good transaction.

okay, its been months since I've talked to three different sellers on here about parts...
newbenz cost me 1000.00 usd in storage, shipping, and purchase price of parts that can not be installed and he didn't mention that at all.
I've never flamed anyone on the rev but damn, 1000.00!! thats a lot of money and I can't even get a phone call back, I waited for six months for him to send me a body kit that is completely fajangled and he couldnt even tell me it couldnt be installed?? did he think I wanted a 1000 dollar paperweight, or a funny story about how I got ripped off on the internet.
I dont get it, I would never screw over another car guy let alone another revhead.. next time I buy something, Im asking for references.
