most of the open wheeled cars were ff2000 with little 4r bangers but the one with the ferrari badge on the body was running a much larger mazda motor. not sure what class it was, but out of the open wheeled cars it was the big daddy.
i also snapped some pics of a pretty sweet e30 that runs gts-2 (nicest bmw owner i met) and they also had bruce mclarens authentic indy car. it was pretty incredible, but they never started it, just towed it around...

The FE with the ferrari badge is a Formula SCCA Enterprises made by Van Diemen as the Formula X, which has the MX-5 engine, they're pretty nice, but a FF2000 that's well set up will actually be faster since they're a more efficient car even though they have less power. I need to start working with formula cars again, this BMW shit I'm doing right now kinda blows, but my school schedule doesn't work with many of the Formula Mazda events being run by my old team around the bay area. Ah Chuch.

I think I am officially a wheel whore, although I haven't mounted any of them (at least for 4 years). I have (all in need of refinishing): 15" ronal penta reps, 16" CLK lightweights, 16" evo 1/sl500s and today I made a rash decision and picked up a set of seriously curbed 17" x 8 1/4" Evo IIs. Expect a thread where I seek refinishing advice on all of them.

That's Bruce McLaren's 1963 Cooper Tasmin Grand Prix car, I was the mechanic solely taking care of it for the last couple years until my driver retired. It's a fully functioning, really fast car. Looks like old Tommy finally sold it, he decided it's not the safest car if you were ever to wreck...

oh man awesome day! got all my manual swap parts ordered and in the mail.

this manual swap couldnt have been timed better. i work at lithia volkswagen, and lithia just bought a mercedes dealer in portland so now i get parts for my car at 110% the price that mercedes pays for them, if you dont know what that means, customers off the street pay 200%. not bad..

I'm doing nothing today. Chilling on the grass, drinking my rum and coke. Ok, maybe I'll go remove some more dead weight from the car later.

Fixed my A/C today - Compressor would not turn on, no power to the pressure switch, but switch and compressor working when manually powered up. Found the temperature sensor with the long tube sticking into the heater box to be way out of range - 1.2MOhm instead of somewhere around 30kOhm. Replaced temporarily with a sensor from one of the Porsche parts cars, working like a charm.

Fixed my aux. fan not working - Made my own aux. fan relay, as the green relay with the built in fuse seems to be unavailable locally for now, so I modded an ice cube relay and put a fuse in-line, works perfectly!

today, i finally put the e34 on craigslist to try to trade for another 190e. if all goes well with that and i get one, i can swap my manual trans from my other 190 into a newer (hopefully much nicer) one and have a nice dd for when the wald can't come out. also, raced a coupe TDI jetta in the e34, smoked it, although it was smoking like...well black smoke was spewing everywhere haha. then i went and washed the wald since it was a nice day. good day indeed :) a
also saw scream 4, it was aiight. ending was epic.

Went to the junkyard to score some parts for the car and came across this fine specimen of a 190E

Must have been in a roll over accident. Idk why they even bothered putting it in the junkyard. The thing was completely smashed to bits.

Got the 420 SEL running by replacing both fuel pumps. Cha-CHING!

haha ^^^ everytime my friends see me driving my 420 a conversation about chronic starts lol.

Was doing donuts in the school parking lot, left some nice black marks. My tire shredded apart and I had to drive 10 MPH all the way to my Dads shop to park the car, tires are coming tomorrow. Ironically enough my friend over hear the Vice Principle and campus security discussing how they need to find out who is leaving "skidmarks" in the parking lot hahah.... Fuck the system right????? jk lo0l
